Handy Cabins was born during the 2020 lockdown, sparked by necessity when my agricultural contracting business was paused as a non-essential service. Determined to keep my team employed, I sought an alternative that aligned with their skills. In May 2020, Handy Cabins came to life. Through the challenges of the pandemic, we persevered, not only providing continuous employment but also building the foundation for an exciting future.
With passion and determination, we started by constructing convenient sleepouts to meet the growing housing needs of Northland whanau. As we gained experience, we refined our processes and gradually expanded to larger cabins, culminating in our first self-contained "Tiny Home" in 2021, a significant milestone for us. Our commitment to quality caught the eye of clients, including one who purchased three cabins that year.
We are proud to have worked with many satisfied customers, including Dargaville Hospital, Womens Refuge, Kaipara District Council and of course many individual clients and whanau. Our work is a testament to our dedication to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
